SIA 2800 Siaron Zirconia
Zirconia alumina grain that self-sharpens under load. Cuts faster on dense hardwoods like ironbark and spotted gum, loads up slower than standard aluminium oxide, and holds a consistent scratch pattern across the full belt life. That matters when the belt sander is doing the heavy removal -- fewer belt changes, more even stock removal, less time chasing uneven scratch depth into the next grit.
Sizes stocked
- 200 x 750mm -- fits the Bona Belt UX 200 and most standard 200mm belt sanders. The workhorse size for residential and commercial sanding.
- 250 x 750mm -- fits the Bona Belt 250 and other 250mm wide-belt machines. More coverage per pass on large open floors.
Grit range
Full sequence from coarse through fine:
- P24 -- heavy stock removal. Old coatings, heavy cupping, levelling rough-sawn boards.
- P36 -- aggressive cut with better control than P24. First pass on most renovation jobs.
- P40 -- standard first cut on new installs and lightly worn floors.
- P50 -- transition grit. Smooths P36/P40 scratch without removing too much timber.
- P60 -- intermediate. Common second or third pass depending on the starting grit.
- P80 -- fine cut. Sets up the surface for edger and buffer work.
- P100 -- pre-finish grit for most water-based topcoats.
- P120 -- final belt pass. Used before primer on high-end jobs where scratch visibility matters.
