SIA Abrasives
Sand-Aid stocks SIA abrasives -- Swiss-made grain work that holds up on Australian hardwoods. SIA discs cut faster, load up slower, and last noticeably longer than budget abrasives, which matters on big floors where you're burning through boxes of discs a day. Uniform grain distribution means a flatter scratch pattern between grits and less chasing of weird marks into the next stage.
Sizes we stock
- 178mm (7″) — for the Bona Edge, CombiEdge and other 7" edge sanders. The standard perimeter disc.
- 150mm (6″) — for intermediate buffers and smaller edgers. Fits most random-orbit floor prep setups too.
- 125mm (5″) — detail and touch-up work, stair treads, risers, cabinetry edges, tight corners.
Grit range
Full sequence from coarse (36, 40, 60) through intermediate (80, 100) to fine (120, 150). Ring with the species, the condition the floor's in, and what topcoat is going on -- you'll get the grit sequence dialled in so you're not buying grits you don't need or skipping one you do.
